BORN IN WILSON COUNTY

Born on Wilson County farms. Built for the whole community.

Harvest Wilson is an independent proposed pilot—not a government program, an outfitter or an officially adopted Leadership Wilson program. The exact Agriculture Day date is awaiting confirmation.

WHERE IT STARTED

During the 2026–2027 Leadership Wilson class Agriculture Day, time spent on working farms across the county made one reality hard to ignore. Farm conversations described deer pressure on crops and mitigation expenses—yet opening the gate to outside hunters brings its own worries about safety, boundaries, liability and who is on the land.

At the same time, experienced and responsible hunters in Wilson County are looking for safe, legitimate places to hunt, and local food programs are always looking for wholesome protein for neighbors in need.

What if these weren’t three separate problems, but three parts of one connected solution?

The Farm

Landowners keep full control: who comes onto the property, when, where they park, which stands are open and when access pauses.

The Hunter

Screened, accountable hunters gain responsible access built on property respect, clear rules and management-focused harvest.

The Neighbor

Eligible venison can be routed through existing processing and food networks to families across Wilson County.

THE PATH SO FAR

Date to be confirmed

Agriculture Day origin

On the Leadership Wilson 2026–2027 class Agriculture Day, visits to working farms surface a shared problem: deer pressure is real, and safe, controlled hunting access is hard to arrange.

Planned

Designing with the community

The proposed next step is for farmers, hunters and food-network voices to help shape a farmer-first approach, with privacy and landowner control at the center.

Proposed; launch not set

Founding farms

A small group of founding farms and vetted hunters plans to test the model and openly report what works and what does not.

WHAT WE ARE NOT

Harvest Wilson is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. All hunting follows state regulations, and each hunter is responsible for their own licensing, tags and harvest reporting. Partners shown in this preview are illustrative, not confirmed.

PEOPLE. LAND. WILDLIFE. COMMUNITY.

The land gives us plenty.
What we do with it matters.
