Now that January has past in 2012 and the holiday rush is over, we want you to become a part of the Harvest Baptist Church family. This is an exciting time for Harvest as projects and endeavors are coming together for the church. We have reached a great point in the life of our church as we have had over 20 people in attendance every Sunday since December, and two of those Sundays had over 30 in attendance! We are truly thankful for this growth. Below is a list of what you can expect in 2012.

What’s going on now:

1) A live worship experience. We have now made the gradual transition to using live instruments and musicians for worship. This is a very good thing for your worship to God. This added element of response and interactivity is not comparable to any other experience you can have.

2) Live sermons online. This tool is meant to give you an extra portal to Harvest Baptist Church. The sermons are there for your review at any time. For example, if you cannot remember a verse you heard during church that meant a lot to you, you can review the sermon audio to find out where in the Bible it is.

3) T-Shirts! Harvest Baptist Church t-shirts are available for purchase now. Each shirt is $10 and available in most adult sizes (supply may vary).

What’s coming up:

1) Podcasting. This tool will be available to you soon. Podcasting is a way of automatically getting content to your computer such as sermons or devotionals. Look forward to this very soon, but until then, all content is available manually at harvestwilson.org/media.

2) Harvest Radio. This is a new way of helping you to worship. New songs are always coming out and made available to use in worship, and then there are also songs that have been around for generations. Harvest Radio will be available to you through this website as a way of getting you familiar with these songs before used in live worship. These are songs that are good for you to listen to no matter where you are. So at home or work, check out Harvest Radio; coming soon to harvestwilson.org.

We are extremely excited and pleased to announce that starting on Sunday, October 2, Harvest Baptist Church will offer another time of fellowship on Sunday mornings. Sunday School is a small-group based meeting preceding corporate worship at 9:45 a.m. For all adults, class will be taught by Bro. Eugene Ray.

Bro. Ray is an extraordinary servant of God having devoted his life to preaching in many churches around the mid-south. A part of his tenure includes creating connections with people, the goal of Sunday School at Harvest Baptist Church.

We hope to see you for Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. each and every Sunday as we learn to become more like Christ through small group study of the Bible and fellowship. Following Sunday School, Worship will begin at 11:00 a.m as we wrap up our study of the book of Ephesians and we continue our worship emphasis of “God Never Stopped Speaking,” as we learn about and sing worship anthems.

Heat advisories and triple digits can only mean one thing around here: It’s time for Vacation Bible School! Harvest Baptist Church will be hosting the New York City themed week in Wilson, AR for the entire community. The event takes place June 26-30 from 9:30a to 12:00p. The day will be filled with several biblically based activities that kids will enjoy. Their safety is number one for us and their activities will be held in a location on the church campus that is safe for their health.

All kids from kindergarten to 6th grade are encouraged to be a part of the fun. Adults can look forward to a cookout (that may actually be a sitting-in due to weather) the June 26 after church in an effort to kick-off the week. To end the week of fun, a block-party style event will be held to celebrate what God has done for Harvest throughout the season. This event will immediately follow the last day of VBS. Expect games, food, inflatables, and a few surprises during this event.

May 1st has come and gone now and it looks just like the 2010 installment of this day: WET! The weather in the mid-south has been absolutely atrocious for over a week now. Cumulative rain event totals have indeed hit the 8 inch mark and continue to rise. Something else that is also rising is the mighty Mississippi River. It is expected to crest at 45 feet, just three feet shy of the all-time record. Let’s not forget all of the severe weather and tornado warnings that continue to pose threats to life and property. Over 75 warnings have been issued in the mid-south alone in the past week and a half.

Seems bleek doesn’t it? There is no doubt that Wilson and Mississippi County will continue to face unique challenges in the wake of this historic weather. However, Harvest Baptist Church wants you to be a part of our family in this time of potential crisis. No matter what may happen in the surrounding communities, Harvest will continue to serve those communities and provide a safe place of worship. Time will be spent encouraging you to persevere in a practical, enduring way.

Remember that services are at 11:00a every Sunday morning. If you need Bro. Bobby or Bro. Landon, they are available throughout the week from 8:00a-11:00p at 870) 514-7884. May God continue to protect and bless Wilson and Mississippi County.

In fact, over 50 people of all ages came together to praise God’s name. A few stuck around to enjoy a time of fellowship together and enjoyed some delicious cake.

God has blessed Harvest Baptist Church in so many ways over the past few weeks. He protected the building from storms, sent laborers to repair the facilities, and today, He brought people together in one accord to praise His name. We are truly thankful for His continued hand in all that takes place at Harvest Baptist Church and Wilson, AR.

The lights at Harvest Baptist Church are on and there is full power. You can look forward to an inspirational service in complete comfort and air conditioning.

Child care will indeed be provided for those who need it. All workers are competent and volunteers from the children’s ministry of Marion First Baptist Church. We believe that your child matters and they will be taught and nurtured with the love of God.

As special and momentous an occasion as our first service on Easter Sunday is, we will hold a brief reception immediately following the service. Cake and beverages will be served. This is a chance to mingle and get to know members and staff alike. Everyone is invited to attend and be a part of the fellowship.

Once again, we encourage you to be awakened this Easter morning. Join us at Harvest Baptist Church at 11am for worship and a practical, inspirational message from the Word of God.
